Wheelhouse - 2006 International Finalist

Wheelhouse officially formed in January 2002 and consists of four die-hard barbershoppers from the Mid-Atlantic District. Internationally renowned, this quartet has created music for people around the world. Ready to sing at the drop of the hat, it's evident that their love and dedication is to creating the most beautiful vocal music possible.

Rich Gray, lead, is a 35 year old salesman from Newark, DE. . Rich is a life long singer and musician who has performed with everything from rock bands to church choirs. You may remember him singing lead with the 2001 District Champs, "Runaway Sound". In recent years Rich has become a sought after coach in all areas of vocal performance. Rich brings a fresh perspective and a unique flavor to Barbershop that is truly his own.
Brandon Brooks, Tenor, joined the society at the age of 17 and just received his 16 year membership card.  Now at age 33, he resides in Harrisburg, PA where he works as a contractor. In the summer, you can find Brandon at Hershey Park’s Music box Theater, singing doo wop and vocal jazz with his a cappella quartet "Crossroads".

Jeff Gray, Baritone, is 29 years old and lives in Wilmington, Delaware where he works as a Report Analyst for ING Direct. Before joining "Wheelhouse" Jeff sang with his older brother Rich in "Runaway Sound", the 2001 Mid-Atlantic District Champions and International qualifier. When he's not singing barbershop Jeff plays lead guitar for local cover band “Second Nature”, as well as playing lead guitar in his own original band “The Ecliptic”. Jeff has also done some arranging for the quartet and hopes to do more in future.
Dan VanWettering, Bass, is the newest member of the quartet. He is 28 years old and lives in Toms River, New Jersey. He works in New York City as a telecommunication installer. Dan has been a member of the society for 12 years and sang in 2 quartets over the years, including "Wired for Sound" and "CD Collection". Dan brings with him a new energy and style that fits just right with Wheelhouse.


Wheelhouse is dedicated to producing the finest vocal music possible. Drawing on influences of rock, jazz, doo wop and classical music, these four men have made great strides in carving out a niche` as one of the best quartets anywhere in the world.
